Celebration of Chinj Mela Brings Community Together in Himachal Pradesh

The vibrant Chinj Mela took place at the Bhatiyat Sub-Divisional Headquarters in Chuwari, drawing a large crowd and marked by the leadership of Himachal Pradesh Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania.


Attendees were treated to exciting wrestling matches featuring talented wrestlers from various parts of the country, showcasing their remarkable abilities.


During his speech, Speaker Pathania highlighted the significance of Himachal Pradesh’s rich folk culture, traditions, and customs as vital components of community life. He pointed out that such fairs and festivals serve not only as entertainment but also play a crucial role in fostering social harmony and cultural values.


He praised the decision to raise the first prize in the wrestling competition to ₹1.21 lakh, expressing his commitment to further elevate the Chinj Mela’s profile and ensure that the organizing committee's suggestions are taken into account.


To facilitate the event's success, Pathania announced a grant of ₹1.21 lakh from his discretionary fund and presented a cheque of ₹1.10 lakh as part of his previous commitment.


The organizing committee honored the Speaker during the festivities.
