Hindi Journalism Day Celebration in Mumbai
In Bhopal, the Mumbai Hindi Journalists Association is set to host a Hindi Service Honor Ceremony on the occasion of 'Hindi Journalism Day.' Professor Sanjay Dwivedi will be the keynote speaker, delivering a lecture to commemorate 200 years of Hindi journalism. The event is scheduled for May 30 at 3:30 PM at the North Indian Association Hall in Bandra East, Mumbai. During the ceremony, individuals who have significantly contributed to the advancement of the Hindi language will also be recognized.
The ceremony will feature Maharashtra's Minister of Skill Development and Employment, Mangal Prabhat Lodha, as the chief guest, with Transport Minister Pratap Sananike attending as a special guest.
Professor Dr. Sanjay Dwivedi, head of the Department of Mass Communication at Makhanlal Chaturvedi National University of Journalism and Communication in Bhopal, has been invited as the main speaker. He has previously served as the Director General of the Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) in New Delhi.
Honorees Include Notable Personalities
Among those to be honored at the Hindi Service Award are renowned lyricist Sameer Anjaan, journalist Sahil Joshi from a prominent news channel, industrialist Gyanprakash Singh, Professor Brijesh Mishra, Dean of the Ayurvedic College in Nagpur, senior journalist Vimal Mishra, and Yatendra Singh Yadav.
Significance of the Day
It is noteworthy that Hindi Journalism Day is celebrated annually on May 30, marking the inception of journalism in the Hindi language. The first Hindi newspaper, Udant Martand, was published by Pandit Jugal Kishore Shukla on May 30, 1826. This day symbolizes the growth of journalism in Hindi.
