Investigation into Disha Salian's Death

New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has officially filed a First Information Report (FIR) regarding the death of Disha Salian, who was the former manager of the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput, as confirmed by officials on Monday.

Earlier this month, the Bombay High Court mandated a CBI investigation into Salian's death, criticizing the Mumbai Police for their failure to file an FIR for six years. The court noted that the police's handling of the case "raises more questions than answers."

The bench expressed discontent with the police's approach, which had categorized the incident solely as an accidental death for six years, highlighting significant "glaring discrepancies" in their investigation.

Disha Salian tragically passed away on June 8, 2020, after falling from the 12th floor of a building located in Mumbai's Malad area. Initially, the Mumbai Police had registered an Accidental Death Report (ADR) concerning her case.

Just a week later, on June 14, 2020, Sushant Singh Rajput was discovered dead in his apartment, leading to widespread speculation about a potential connection between the two incidents.

The public outcry following Rajput's death prompted the Maharashtra government to initiate a CBI investigation into his case. The agency later submitted a closure report indicating that Rajput's death was a suicide, although this report has yet to be reviewed by the relevant court.
