Demand for a Dedicated Transport Commission

New Delhi, August 4 - During the Rajya Sabha session on Tuesday, a member from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) advocated for the establishment of a Transport Commission to enhance the overall development of the transportation sector in the country. Amidst disruptions from opposition MPs demanding statements from Home Minister Amit Shah regarding the theft of donations for the Ram Temple and police actions against protesting students, only two members managed to raise issues of public importance before the session was adjourned until noon.

Seema Dwivedi from the BJP emphasized the necessity of forming a dedicated commission to make the transportation system more effective, secure, and modern. She also urged the government to consider declaring September 6 as National Transport Day, arguing that this would honor the contributions of employees and institutions in the transport sector while raising awareness about road safety, traffic consciousness, and improved transportation systems among the public.

Skill Development Center Proposal in Auraiya

Another BJP member, Geeta, also known as Chandraprabha, raised the issue of establishing a skill development center in Auraiya district, highlighting the rapid development in the area along with improvements in education, roads, and other essential services. She pointed out that in the changing circumstances, skill development is crucial.

Geeta stated that there is a significant number of youth in Auraiya eager to receive technical training. She insisted on the need to expand facilities to connect these young individuals with skill development and technical education, thereby enhancing their employment opportunities.
