Kumari Sarika, a member of the Panchayat Committee, has made a formal request to the MLA of Bharmour–Pangi, advocating for the replacement of the high-voltage overhead power lines that currently traverse the Bharmaur market. She has submitted a memorandum seeking both budgetary allocations and administrative approval for this essential project.

The memorandum points out that the existing overhead lines run directly above numerous residential and commercial properties, creating a significant safety hazard for local traders, residents, and the thousands who frequent the market each day. The potential for a catastrophic incident increases during adverse weather conditions such as heavy rain, snowfall, or strong winds, as well as due to technical malfunctions.

Sarika stressed that given the high population density and activity level in Bharmaur market, transitioning to underground armored cables would be the most effective and lasting solution. This change would greatly diminish the likelihood of accidents and enhance public safety.

She urged the MLA to prioritize the safety and well-being of the community by approving the necessary funding, granting administrative clearance, and instructing the electricity department to act promptly. Sarika expressed optimism that a favorable resolution will be reached soon regarding this critical public safety matter.
