Call for Dissolution of NTA Amid NEET Exam Paper Leak Controversy
Legal Action Against NTA
As the NEET exam paper leak controversy intensifies, the United Doctors Front has filed a petition in the Supreme Court on Saturday, seeking the dissolution of the National Testing Agency (NTA). The petition requests that the existing NTA, established under the Societies Registration Act of 1860, be disbanded and replaced with a new statutory framework through parliamentary legislation. It urges the central government to enact a law for the establishment of a statutory national examination body that would ensure clear legal authority, transparency standards, and accountability to Parliament.
Concerns Raised by the Petition
This petition has been submitted by the registered organization United Doctors Front (UDF) under Article 32 of the Constitution. It alleges a "systemic and catastrophic failure" in the conduct of NEET-UG 2026 and calls for structural reforms within the examination system.
