C. Joseph Vijay to Take Oath as Tamil Nadu Chief Minister

C. Joseph Vijay, founder of the Tamilga Vetri Kazhagam, will take the oath of office as Tamil Nadu's Chief Minister today. This ceremony, led by Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, signifies a pivotal change in the state's political dynamics, ending the dominance of traditional Dravidian parties. Vijay's cabinet is also expected to be sworn in during the event, with a confidence vote anticipated by May 13. This marks a historic moment for Tamil Nadu's governance.
 

C. Joseph Vijay's Historic Oath Ceremony

Today, C. Joseph Vijay, the founder of the Tamilga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK), will officially assume the role of Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. The oath-taking ceremony is scheduled for 10 AM at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium, officiated by Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar.


This event marks a significant milestone as it will be the first time a non-Dravidian party forms the government in the state, signaling the end of the longstanding dominance of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) and the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK).


Additionally, it is anticipated that Governor Arlekar will also administer the oath to Vijay's new cabinet, which includes notable figures such as 'Bussy' N. Anand, Aadhav Arjun, K.A. Sengottaiyan, S. Keertana, along with K.G. Arunraj, P. Venkataramanan, C.T.R. Nirmal Kumar, A. Rajmohan, and K.T. Prabhu.


Vijay is expected to demonstrate his majority in the assembly through a confidence vote by May 13 or earlier.
