Accident Involving Amarnath Pilgrims

On July 28, a bus carrying pilgrims to the Amarnath shrine met with an accident in the Kangan area of the Ganderbal district in Jammu and Kashmir. The vehicle skidded off the road and fell onto a house, resulting in injuries to at least 39 passengers, as reported by local authorities.

The incident occurred in the Hariganiwan region when the bus driver lost control while navigating a turn, causing the bus to veer off the road and crash onto a residential building. Fortunately, the bus did not roll into the Sindh River, and there were no occupants in the house at the time of the accident.

All 39 injured individuals were returning from visiting the cave temple when the mishap took place. Local residents and security personnel promptly assisted in transporting the injured to the hospital. Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha reached out to gather information regarding the condition of the injured.

Sinha shared on social media that he had spoken with the Deputy Commissioner of Ganderbal and health officials to get updates on the situation. He confirmed that the injured pilgrims are currently receiving treatment at SKIMS and emphasized that health officials have been instructed to provide all necessary assistance and superior medical care. Sinha expressed his prayers for the swift recovery of the injured devotees.
