Bullying Incident in Karnataka Shocks Community: 8th Grader Attacked by Classmates
A Disturbing Case of Bullying
A shocking incident has emerged from Karnataka, where a boy in the 8th grade, previously regarded as the class 'leader', has become a victim of bullying by his classmates. The 13-year-old was reportedly attacked by three of his peers on school grounds, resulting in serious injuries. His family has lodged a complaint with the police, stating that he has been targeted for an extended period.
The allegations suggest that the boy was coerced into bringing cash and his mobile phone, which were then taken from him. It is claimed that the assailants assaulted him after taking him to the restroom. Initially, the police hesitated to file an FIR, but after pressure from relatives, the case was officially registered.
Lack of Action Despite Complaints
The Jayalakshmipuram police station has registered a case under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including charges of intentional harm and endangering someone's life or personal safety. Additionally, actions are being taken against the boy's classmates under the Juvenile Justice Act. In an interview with the media, the victim revealed that the bullying had persisted for nearly four years.
He recounted that the harassment began when he was in the 4th grade. After being appointed as the class leader and instructed to report any wrongdoing, he faced retaliation in the form of physical abuse. Despite his mother's complaints to the teacher, no action was taken.
