Court Directs Investigation into Disha Salian's Tragic Death

Mumbai: On Wednesday, the Bombay High Court mandated a CBI investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of Disha Salian, who was the former manager of the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput. Disha tragically died by suicide in June 2020.

The court emphasized that no individual should be labeled as an accused unless the Investigating Officer uncovers substantial evidence against them during the inquiry.

This ruling was issued in response to a petition from Satish Salian, Disha's father, who claimed that the Mumbai Police had mishandled the investigation into his daughter's death.

Following the court's decision, advocate Nilesh Ojha, representing Satish Salian, stated that the CBI has been instructed to document the petitioner's statement, file an FIR, assign a senior officer to oversee the investigation, and retrieve all pertinent records from the Malvani Police Station.

Ojha remarked, "The court has made it clear that action must be taken against anyone against whom evidence is found. At the same time, no person should be named as an accused without evidence. It has also clarified that if the CBI files a closure report, we will have the right to object and file a protest petition. We have full faith that truth will prevail."

Previously, Ojha had accused certain influential figures and senior police officials of attempting to suppress the case, despite legal requirements for an FIR to be filed.

In response to the court's ruling, Satish Salian expressed optimism that the investigation would reveal the truth. He stated, "It has been a six-year fight. I always had faith that the truth would come out. Action should be taken against whoever is found guilty. Anyone who has done wrong must face the consequences."

Disha Salian passed away on June 8, 2020, after falling from the 14th floor of a residential building located in Mumbai's Malad area.
