Initial investigations deemed the threats as hoaxes, with no suspicious findings reported. This article delves into the details of these alarming events and the ongoing investigations, highlighting the city's security response.

Bomb Threats in Delhi Prompt Security Response

The capital city of India, Delhi, experienced a wave of panic due to bomb threats on Saturday. Notable locations such as the historic Red Fort and the Delhi Secretariat, along with two schools, received alarming threats. However, after thorough investigations and extensive searches by security agencies, the police declared these threats as false alarms (hoax calls).

The Mumbai police control room alerted the Delhi police about the threats, which were subsequently communicated to the North District police. Following an investigation, the North District police confirmed that the calls were indeed hoaxes.

Previous Threats and Security Measures

Earlier in the day, both the Red Fort and the Delhi Secretariat had also been threatened with bombings, prompting security agencies to initiate a search operation. According to the Delhi Fire Service, the Delhi Secretariat received a bomb threat via email. Officials reported that the fire department received a call around noon, leading to teams being dispatched to the scene, but nothing suspicious was found.

Additionally, two schools in the capital received bomb threats via email, which led to immediate search operations. The Delhi Fire Service confirmed that security agencies, including police and bomb disposal squads, conducted thorough searches of both school premises, finding no suspicious items.

NIA Submits Forensic Report on Previous Bombing

In a related development, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) submitted a forensic report earlier this week regarding the car bomb explosion in the Red Fort area last year that resulted in the deaths of 11 individuals. Sources indicated that this report was presented before Special Judge Peetambar Dutt, who will review it and issue further directives.

Meanwhile, the court has extended the judicial custody of nine accused individuals until July 13. Previously, on May 14, the NIA filed a 7,500-page charge sheet concerning the high-intensity vehicle-borne IED explosion that shook the capital on November 10 last year. The NIA has also filed supplementary charge sheets against three additional individuals, including a fugitive pediatrician identified as a founding member of a terror module, bringing the total number of charged individuals to 13.
