Bomb Threat Received by Bihar Assembly

Authorities reported that on Friday, the Bihar Assembly received an email threatening to detonate a bomb. Anu Kumari, the Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) of Secretariat-1, confirmed that the assembly officials were alerted about the bomb threat via email. The police are conducting a thorough investigation of the premises. Bomb disposal and search teams have been deployed, and an extensive search operation is currently underway. It is noteworthy that a similar threat was received by the assembly on March 13, which was later deemed false.

Security Measures in Response to Threats

In a related incident, a bomb threat email sent to the Delhi Assembly on Thursday triggered extensive security drills at major government facilities and public areas. Officials stated that the email arrived at 8:14 AM in various government inboxes, including those linked to the assembly. The email warned of potential explosions at the assembly, the secretariat, several schools, and a metro station at different times throughout the day.

Acting swiftly, the Delhi police initiated comprehensive anti-sabotage checks at the assembly complex, secretariat, schools, and metro stations, utilizing bomb disposal units and search dog teams. A police spokesperson indicated that while the email appears to be a hoax, all standard safety protocols are being followed to ensure public safety. Investigations are ongoing at all locations mentioned in the email, with heightened security in central and sensitive areas, additional personnel deployed, and strict monitoring at entry and exit points. Cyber teams have been assigned to trace the source of the email and identify the sender.
