False Bomb Threat Investigated in Chennai

This morning, a bomb threat directed at popular actor and Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) president Vijay's home in Neelankarai, located on the East Coast Road (ECR) in Chennai, was confirmed to be a hoax by authorities.


The Chennai Police Control Room received a call around 5:20 AM, alleging that an explosive device had been placed at the actor's residence. In response to the threat, three bomb disposal experts and a sniffer dog were dispatched to the scene immediately.


After conducting a thorough search that lasted nearly an hour, the bomb squad reported that no explosives were found on the premises. Officials labeled the threat as a rumor and left the site after completing their investigation. The Neelankarai police station has registered a case regarding the incident, and further inquiries are ongoing.
