Bollywood Actress Reveals Shocking Assault by Director
Gehana Vasisth's Harrowing Experience
Navigating the Bollywood film industry can be incredibly challenging, with many aspiring actors and actresses arriving in Mumbai with dreams of stardom. However, the journey often involves facing numerous obstacles, including the pressure to compromise or endure exploitation.
One such actress, Gehana Vasisth, has bravely shared her traumatic experience in an interview, recounting a horrific incident involving a director when she was new to the industry. Here’s her story.
Alcohol and Assault
In a candid interview last year, Gehana revealed her background, stating, "I hail from a small village in Chhattisgarh and was academically inclined, achieving a rank of 163 in the IIT JEE. However, my aspiration was always to become an actress, which led me to Mumbai in 2011. After a year of auditions without success, I met a man who claimed to be a director at Balaji Telefilms. I was desperate for work to support my family."
She continued, "He invited me to his home, convincing me that to succeed in the film industry, I needed to shed my inhibitions. He suggested that I practice acting by drinking alcohol, claiming it would help me portray certain scenes. Despite my reluctance, I eventually gave in and consumed alcohol, which left me heavily intoxicated. He took advantage of my state and assaulted me."
Hospitalization and Recovery
Gehana described how she was disoriented and barely managed to leave the situation. With the help of some individuals, she returned home but was in such poor condition that she required hospitalization for a week. After recovering, she resumed her search for work, ultimately turning to B-grade films when opportunities in mainstream cinema were scarce.
It's worth noting that in 2021, Gehana faced allegations related to the production of adult content with Raj Kundra's company, leading to her arrest. After spending some time in jail, she was released on bail, asserting that her work was solely focused on erotic content, and she had no knowledge of other activities within Kundra's company.
