This change in leadership occurred just hours after Shivakumar took the oath as the new Chief Minister of Karnataka, ensuring a smooth transition of power within the state.

Former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah resigned from his position on Thursday after being asked to step down by the party's high command.

On Thursday, Chief Minister DK Shivakumar congratulated BK Hariprasad on his appointment as the KPCC president. In a post on X, Shivakumar expressed his heartfelt congratulations, stating that with Hariprasad's extensive political experience and deep understanding of the organization, he believes the Congress party will become even stronger and more united in Karnataka under his leadership.
