BJP's Jana Aashirwad Yatra Receives Enthusiastic Response in Assam
BJP's Roadshow in Upper Assam
Guwahati, Mar 2: The Jana Aashirwad Yatra organized by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) marked its third day on Monday, with Assam's Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma spearheading the roadshow across Upper Assam, which the party hailed as having an 'unprecedented' public turnout.
The journey commenced in Gohpur and is set to traverse through Bihpuria and Ranganadi, concluding at Nowboicha. Over the span of three days, the yatra aims to cover a total of 12 constituencies.
During a press interaction in Gohpur, Sarma emphasized that the initiative seeks the blessings of the populace.
“In the past two days, we have garnered immense support and blessings from the community. We anticipate the same today,” remarked the Chief Minister.
Describing the turnout as 'historic', Sarma noted that he had never experienced such a level of public engagement in his political journey.
“This is an unparalleled level of support. After 25 years in politics, I have never witnessed anything like this. While people have previously won elections by significant margins, such large crowds have never gathered,” he stated.
“I believe the public is recognizing and blessing us for our efforts over the years,” he added.
As of the time of this report, the yatra had reached Bihpuria.
Numerous individuals lined the streets in Bihpuria to catch a glimpse of the Chief Minister as his convoy passed through the area.
A local resident expressed, “The people from this constituency will play a vital role in establishing the next BJP-led government.”
A female supporter remarked, “We warmly welcome the Chief Minister to Bihpuria. We believe he will continue to be our Chief Minister because he has accomplished unprecedented work. He has transformed Assam's landscape.”
Another woman from the Kachari community shared, “We have been waiting here since 11 am. We desire another government led by Prime Minister Modi.”
Former Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) chief Bhupen Kumar Borah, who participated in the rally, highlighted the yatra's emphasis on public interaction.
“In the past, residents of Bihpuria would see Chief Ministers from afar. This time, they will have the opportunity to meet and converse with the Chief Minister. Previously, the CM would deliver speeches while the public listened. Now, the public will speak, and the Chief Minister will listen,” Borah noted.
