BJP's Election Manifesto for West Bengal

During the unveiling of the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) manifesto for the upcoming assembly elections in West Bengal, Union Home Minister Amit Shah made several commitments on Friday. These include actions against illegal immigrants, ensuring law and order, providing monthly financial assistance to women, and implementing the seventh pay commission. Speaking at a press conference in Kolkata, Shah stated that if the BJP comes to power, a Uniform Civil Code (UCC) will be enacted within six months. He emphasized that this manifesto, referred to as 'Sankalp Patra', aims to guide farmers, youth, and women towards a new direction.


 


Addressing the press, Shah criticized the Trinamool Congress (TMC), claiming that its 15 years of governance have severely disrupted law and order. He noted that the people had given a mandate to Mamata Didi with great expectations, but now they genuinely desire change. He further asserted that the BJP's vision aligns perfectly with Prime Minister Modi's mission for a developed India.


 


Shah remarked that the manifesto serves as a pathway to lift every section of Bengal out of despair. It aims to provide a new direction for farmers who are surrounded by various fears. Additionally, it will present the roadmap for a developed India as envisioned by Prime Minister Modi to the people of Bengal. He reiterated that the populace is frightened and disheartened, expressing a strong desire for change. Currently, the BJP operates as the main opposition party in the Bengal assembly.


 


The manifesto, themed 'Sonar Bangla' (Golden Bengal), promises significant changes in governance priorities, focusing on national security, youth employment, and women's safety. Amit Shah outlined 15 key commitments to address governance, development, and security challenges in the state. The BJP has pledged strict action against illegal immigrants to safeguard national security, assuring the identification and deportation of such individuals through a 'detect, remove, and deport' policy.


 


Key Promises in the 'Sankalp Patra' for Bengal Elections:


- Implementation of UCC within six months


- Zero tolerance policy against illegal immigrants


- Implementation of the seventh pay commission within the next 45 days


- Monthly financial assistance of ₹3,000 for women


- Execution of BJP schemes including Ayushman Bharat in West Bengal


- Ensuring law and order and secure borders for all


- Construction of a Vande Mataram museum to promote Bengal's rich cultural heritage


- 33% reservation for women in all government jobs, including state police


- Monthly financial assistance of ₹3,000 for unemployed youth


- An additional contribution of ₹3,000 from Bengal under the Prime Minister Kisan Scheme, alongside the central government's ₹6,000 annual assistance


- Development of four new townships in Bengal


- Integration of the Chief Minister's health scheme with the central Ayushman Bharat scheme


- Financial support of ₹15,000 for youth preparing for competitive exams; a five-year age relaxation for those denied jobs due to corruption


- Development of a spiritual circuit dedicated to Chaitanya Mahaprabhu and establishment of a cultural center named after Rabindranath Tagore.
