BJP Unveils Promises for Kerala's 2026 Elections

The BJP has unveiled its manifesto for the 2026 Kerala elections, featuring significant welfare initiatives such as the Bhakshya Arogya Suraksha card for women, aimed at providing financial support for essential needs. The party also promises to enhance regional development by promoting various cities for specific industries, including IT, healthcare, and defense. Additionally, the manifesto includes commitments to provide free LPG cylinders and water to needy families, alongside plans for major infrastructure projects like a high-speed rail corridor. This comprehensive approach aims to create job opportunities and improve the quality of life for residents in Kerala.
 

Key Proposals in BJP's Election Manifesto

The BJP's manifesto for the upcoming 2026 elections in Kerala outlines several welfare and infrastructure commitments. Among these is the introduction of the "Bhakshya Arogya Suraksha" card aimed at economically disadvantaged women, which will provide a monthly recharge of ₹2,500 for medicines and groceries. Released by the state party president Nitin Nabin, the manifesto also pledges the establishment of an All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Kerala and the development of a high-speed rail corridor connecting Thiruvananthapuram and Kannur.


Regional Development Initiatives

The BJP has promised to promote Thiruvananthapuram as the capital of information technology and innovation, Kochi as India's shipbuilding hub, Kozhikode as a center for healthcare and medical innovation, Thrissur as the cultural tourism capital, Kollam as an internationally competitive blue economy cluster focusing on marine exports, and Kannur as a defense innovation center. The party anticipates that these regional hubs will create significant employment opportunities.


Welfare Schemes and Community Support

Under its welfare initiatives, the BJP has committed to launching the Bhakshya Arogya Suraksha card for needy women, which will offer a monthly recharge of ₹2,500 for essential medicines and groceries. Additionally, the party has proposed the establishment of an All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA) and the construction of a high-speed railway network linking Thiruvananthapuram to Kannur.


Support for Vulnerable Families

The manifesto includes promises to provide two free LPG cylinders annually to impoverished families during Onam and Christmas, as well as ensuring each household receives 20,000 liters of free water monthly. It also addresses the management of major pilgrimage sites like Sabarimala and Guruvayur, assuring their protection through improved Devaswom boards. Regarding the Mullaperiyar dam issue, the BJP has expressed its commitment to safeguarding Kerala's interests while ensuring water supply for Tamil Nadu.
