In Jaipur, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Rajasthan has released a detailed election manifesto in preparation for the upcoming Panchayati Raj elections in 2026. This document, titled the 'Gram Vikas Sankalp Patra,' aims to promote the vision of a developed Rajasthan with a focus on rural advancement. The BJP's objective is to transform rural areas into the epicenter of economic and social growth, rather than merely relying on government schemes. The manifesto outlines significant initiatives in agriculture, water security, health, education, women's empowerment, infrastructure, and the strengthening of local governance.


Key Areas of Focus

The manifesto presents a roadmap to connect rural communities with modern amenities, employment opportunities, digital connectivity, and industrial prospects, moving beyond mere agricultural dependence. The party asserts that these commitments will lead to every village in Rajasthan becoming educated, healthy, secure, clean, water-rich, and prosperous.


1. Agricultural Welfare and Development

To enhance farmers' income and modernize agriculture, the manifesto includes several key promises:


Increased Financial Assistance: The annual amount under the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme will be raised to ₹12,000.


Government Procurement and Bonuses: Wheat will be procured at a minimum support price with an additional bonus, totaling ₹2,700 per quintal. Guaranteed procurement systems will be established for jowar and bajra, and maize procurement will be tripled.


2. Livestock, Dairy, and Fisheries

Recognizing the importance of livestock in Rajasthan's rural economy, special measures have been proposed:


Dairy Network Expansion: The formation of 20,000 new dairy cooperatives is planned, with a target to increase milk exports to 1,000 metric tons.


3. Water Security, Irrigation, and Power Supply

The manifesto emphasizes major projects for water and electricity, considering them vital for rural development:


Water Conservation and Household Water Supply: One lakh new water conservation structures will be constructed across the state, and pure drinking water will be provided to all rural households.


4. Rural Infrastructure and Housing

Plans have been laid out to modernize village infrastructure to urban standards:


Road Connectivity: All villages will be connected by paved roads, with over ₹9,000 crores allocated for improving 19,000 km of missing-link roads.


5. Employment, Women's Empowerment, and Education

The manifesto focuses on economic self-reliance for youth and women:


Youth Employment: Aiming to create 10 lakh new job opportunities for rural youth across both government and private sectors.


6. Health, Social Security, and Cultural Heritage

Attention has been given to the health and social welfare of rural citizens:


Health Services: Quality health services and telemedicine facilities will be available in every panchayat.


7. Empowerment of Panchayats and Urban Village Concept

To empower panchayats, technical and fundamental changes will be implemented:


Panchayat Empowerment: All 14,403 gram panchayats will be made more administratively, financially, and technically independent.
