BJP to Unveil Candidate List Post-Holi in Assam Elections

BJP's Election Strategy in Assam


Nalbari, Feb 28: As the Assembly elections draw near, Dilip Saikia, the President of Assam's BJP and a Lok Sabha MP, announced on Friday that the party will reveal its candidate list in phases following the Holi celebrations (Dol Utsav).


During a press conference in Nalbari, Saikia mentioned that the BJP is finalizing its electoral strategy and will disclose the candidates' names at the right moment.


“The list of candidates will be announced in phases after Dol Utsav,” he confirmed.


Regarding the ticket distribution process, the state BJP leader suggested that the party would prioritize well-known and trusted individuals.


“Candidates who are already recognized and familiar to the public will be favored,” Saikia emphasized, highlighting the importance of continuity and a strong connection with grassroots supporters in the selection process.


Saikia was in Nalbari to inaugurate the Uttar Nalbari Mandal BJP office, which is viewed as a strategic move to bolster the party's organizational framework ahead of the elections.


The inauguration was attended by various party leaders and members, including Jayanta Malla Baruah, the MLA from Nalbari and an Assam Minister.


In his address to party members, Saikia underscored the necessity of organizational cohesion, readiness at the booth level, and ongoing engagement with voters as the elections approach.


Expressing optimism about the BJP's chances, he pointed to the party's governance achievements and development efforts at both the national and state levels.


He called on party workers to ramp up their initiatives and effectively communicate the government's accomplishments to the electorate, stressing that discipline and coordination within the party would be vital for electoral success.
