Meeting with Prime Minister Modi

On July 27, in Chandigarh, the President of the Punjab unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Keval Singh Dhillon, met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi. He stated that they engaged in detailed discussions regarding various issues related to the state's development and law enforcement.

Dhillon shared with a news agency that during their 35-minute conversation, they addressed topics such as law and order, the drug problem, and criminal gangs. He mentioned that the Prime Minister assured him that he would visit Punjab whenever invited.

Focus on Punjab's Development

Having taken over as the state BJP president in June, Dhillon expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to meet with Prime Minister Modi in a post on social media. He emphasized that their discussions covered comprehensive development strategies for Punjab, welfare for the state's residents, and the well-being of farmers and laborers, who are considered the backbone of the region's economy.

He highlighted the need to attract new investments to restore Punjab as a leading industrial hub and create new opportunities for the youth, ensuring a bright future for the state. Dhillon praised the Prime Minister's visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to Punjab, stating that it would indeed provide a new direction for the state's progress.

Criticism of AAP Government

Dhillon reiterated the BJP's dedication to working diligently and honestly for the development of Punjab and its people. He recalled that during his visit to Jalandhar on July 17, Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation for infrastructure projects worth ₹5,470 crores, which included the redevelopment of 75 railway stations.

The Prime Minister also criticized the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Punjab regarding law and order, debt, and corruption. Dhillon accused the AAP government of leading Punjab into economic and administrative decline due to its misguided policies, stating that farmers and laborers, who are vital to the state's economy, are facing significant hardships while the government remains focused on false claims and publicity.
