BJP's Demonstration in Delhi

On Thursday, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) staged a significant protest in Delhi against the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and its national convenor, Arvind Kejriwal, concerning alleged paper leak incidents in Punjab. To maintain law and order, a substantial police presence was deployed outside the AAP headquarters during the demonstration. The BJP claims that numerous recruitment and examination paper leaks have occurred in Punjab in recent months, jeopardizing the futures of millions of candidates. Holding the AAP government accountable, the party has demanded the immediate resignation of Punjab's Education Minister, Harjot Singh Bains, on moral grounds.

Continuing Attacks on AAP Government

This protest is the latest in a series of BJP attacks on the AAP government regarding alleged irregularities in examinations in Punjab. Previously, on July 28, BJP MPs, led by Rajya Sabha member Swati Maliwal, protested inside the Parliament complex. During this demonstration, BJP leaders chanted slogans demanding accountability for the alleged paper leak cases and called for Harjot Singh Bains to resign.

Concerns Over Recruitment Process

The BJP argues that the repeated allegations of paper leaks have undermined the credibility of the state's recruitment process, creating uncertainty among job seekers. The Shiromani Akali Dal has also intensified its criticism of the Punjab government on this issue. Party MP Harsimrat Kaur Badal has urged Union Home Minister Amit Shah to order a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the alleged 11 examination scams that occurred during the AAP government's tenure in Punjab.

Calls for CBI Investigation

In a post on social media, Harsimrat Kaur Badal stated that she has requested a thorough investigation from the CBI on behalf of the people of Punjab. She emphasized that Punjab deserves accountability and that nothing less than a complete investigation will be acceptable. The Congress party has also joined the opposition's attack, accusing the Punjab government of failing to maintain the integrity of recruitment examinations. On Monday, Congress MPs protested outside Parliament, demanding the resignation of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, alleging multiple incidents of paper leaks in the state. They also criticized the police's actions against sanitation workers protesting in Barnala, using it as another issue in their campaign against the AAP government.
