BJP President Issues Warning Against Caste-Based Politics in Uttar Pradesh

Pankaj Chaudhary, the BJP president in Uttar Pradesh, has issued a strong warning to party legislators against participating in caste and family-based politics. This comes after reports of Brahmin legislators organizing a separate dinner to discuss party matters. Chaudhary emphasized that such actions contradict the party's principles and warned that any future occurrences would be deemed a breach of discipline. He highlighted the BJP's commitment to development-oriented politics and social justice, asserting that caste-based politics is losing relevance in the state. The evolving political landscape poses challenges for parties relying on caste identity, leading to unfounded attacks on the BJP.

BJP's Stance on Caste Politics

In Uttar Pradesh, Pankaj Chaudhary, the president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), has issued a stern warning to party legislators against engaging in caste and family-based politics. This caution follows reports that some Brahmin legislators organized a separate dinner to discuss party matters. According to a press release, Chaudhary emphasized that such actions do not align with the principles and constitution of the BJP.

Clarification on Party Principles

Chaudhary reiterated that the BJP is a political party grounded in principles and ideals, rejecting any form of politics based on family or specific castes. He mentioned that during a recent assembly session, certain representatives held a special dinner where discussions centered around their communities took place. He has communicated with these representatives, making it clear that such activities are inconsistent with the constitutional traditions of the party. The release stated that representatives have been advised to remain vigilant against such actions in the future.

Consequences of Non-Compliance

The Uttar Pradesh BJP president pointed out that the party has informed all representatives that such activities send the wrong message to society. He stated, "If any BJP representative repeats such actions in the future, it will be considered a breach of discipline according to the party's constitution." Chaudhary also noted that the BJP is advancing its identity-based politics within a diverse democracy, emphasizing the need for traditional political figures to redefine themselves and reorganize their ideologies to remain relevant in the changing political landscape.

Impact of Development Politics

Chaudhary remarked that the caste-based politics of the opposition in the state is diminishing in the face of the development-oriented politics and nationalism showcased by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He asserted that the BJP has established a framework of social justice and inclusive politics in the state. This development-centric model has defeated the heirs of casteist politics in Uttar Pradesh. In the rapidly evolving political environment, parties like the Samajwadi Party, Bahujan Samaj Party, and Congress, which rely on caste identity, face a bleak future. This is why these parties are launching baseless and unfounded attacks against the BJP.
