Heightened Security Measures at Zorawar Stadium

Dharamshala:
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is gearing up for a significant demonstration in Dharamshala on Thursday, December 4, 2025, to express its dissent against what it describes as the Congress government's 'failed' three-year rule in Himachal Pradesh.

As participants from various regions of the state began arriving late Thursday night, preparations for a show of strength at Zorawar Stadium were underway.

In anticipation of a large turnout and possible political tensions, authorities have transformed the stadium and the adjacent Assembly area into fortified zones. A substantial police presence has been established, and barricades have been set up on access roads to deter any attempts by protestors to approach the Vidhan Sabha.

BJP Criticizes Sukhu Government's Performance

Sukhu government has let down all sections, says Bindal

Dr. Rajeev Bindal, the state BJP president, accused the Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu administration of failing various segments of society, including unemployed youth, government workers, farmers, pensioners, women, and business owners.

He asserted that law and order in the state has deteriorated, referencing incidents of gunfire in broad daylight and an increase in serious crimes. 'This government has proven to be the most aimless and corrupt administration the state has ever encountered,' he stated, emphasizing that the protest aligns with the party's campaign slogan: 'Three years of system breakdown — Replace the corrupt Congress government.'

Concerns Over Unpaid Financial Obligations

Attacks ruling party over unpaid dues

Bindal also highlighted that the state has outstanding financial commitments for three years of promised assistance to nearly 28 lakh women, claiming that liabilities to employees and pensioners amount to around Rs 10,000 crore. He assured that the protest would be peaceful but cautioned that any disturbances or provocations would be the government's responsibility. The rally is expected to feature the party's complete organizational leadership, including MPs, MLAs, and members from the women's and youth wings.

Additionally, Bindal condemned the recent police action against ABVP members, labeling it an effort to suppress young voices and a 'blow to democracy.' He affirmed that the party would not remain silent regarding what he described as an infringement on students' rights.

The rally is anticipated to attract a large crowd as the BJP seeks to gain momentum ahead of the upcoming panchayat elections and the next Assembly election in Himachal Pradesh.
