BJP MLA Criticizes Congress Government Over Economic Issues and Religious Rhetoric

Bikram Singh Thakur's Critique of the Congress Administration

Former Industries Minister and BJP representative for Jaswan-Paragpur, Bikram Singh Thakur, has launched a fierce critique against Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and the Congress-led government. He accused them of exploiting the name of Lord Ram to distract the public from their shortcomings.

Thakur pointed out that the Congress administration has not fulfilled its ten election promises, while the state's financial situation worsens, marked by increasing debt and administrative failures. He urged the Chief Minister to present a White Paper on Himachal’s financial status instead of engaging in discussions about the Ram Mandir.

Bikram Singh Thakur's Main Accusations

The Congress party lacks the moral authority to question Lord Ram or the Ram Mandir, considering its historical opposition to the Ram Janmabhoomi movement and the legal challenges it posed.

Thakur highlighted the party's involvement in significant scandals, including 2G Spectrum, Coal Allocation, Commonwealth Games, Bofors, AgustaWestland, Adarsh Housing, National Herald, Aircel-Maxis, and Tatra Trucks.

He criticized the Sukhu administration for failing to deliver on promises such as a ₹1500 monthly allowance for women, job creation for youth, and support for farmers and pensioners.

Thakur alleged that Congress is manipulating religious sentiments for political advantage when faced with criticism regarding governance and economic management.

Thakur's Remarks

“Lord Ram represents faith and cultural identity for millions of Indians. The Ram Mandir is a focal point of national devotion. The Congress party should refrain from politicizing Lord Ram and the temple for its own gain. The citizens of Himachal are aware of this diversionary tactic. The BJP remains committed to public welfare, effective governance, and integrity,” Thakur stated.

He reiterated his call for CM Sukhu to promptly release a White Paper on the state’s economy and provide a transparent account of the ten promises made to the electorate.
