BJP Responds to Rahul Gandhi's Allegations

New Delhi, July 29 - The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) dismissed Rahul Gandhi's assertion on Wednesday, labeling it as 'false' that police fired shots at student protesters marching towards Parliament last week under the orders of Home Minister Amit Shah. The party accused the Congress leader of attempting to create confusion and incite chaos for political gain.

During a press conference at the BJP headquarters, spokesperson Sambit Patra criticized Gandhi's remark that Shah travels in a convoy of 30 vehicles out of fear. Patra stated, 'This is a lie. Perhaps even the Prime Minister does not have a convoy of 30 vehicles. Rahul Gandhi, come and show me where you saw those 30 vehicles in Amit Shah's convoy.'

In response to Gandhi's comment in the Lok Sabha that the Home Minister 'trembles with fear,' Patra countered that Shah is the individual who instills fear in Naxalites and terrorists.

The BJP's reaction came after Gandhi accused Shah of approving police 'excesses and firing' against student demonstrators. This allegation led to significant uproar in the Lok Sabha during discussions on a bill amending the anti-paper leak law. The BJP retaliated by accusing the opposition leader of fabricating a 'bundle of lies' and demanded an apology for misusing the House with baseless claims.

Patra asserted, 'Rahul Gandhi claimed that shots were fired at students. He lied. No shots were fired.' He further questioned, 'If no shots were fired, how could anyone give an order for firing?' Patra accused Gandhi and the Congress of spreading falsehoods to create confusion and incite disorder, as they cannot return to power by winning elections.
