BJP Criticizes Telangana Government's Electronic Family Registry Initiative

BJP's Response to Family Registry Implementation

Hyderabad, July 28 - The president of the Telangana unit of the BJP, N. Ram Chandra Rao, has condemned the state government's decision to implement an 'Electronic Family Registry' across Telangana. He accused the ruling Congress party of hastily preparing to issue family registry certificates to protect its 'illegal vote bank' during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process. Rao emphasized that his party will not allow any illegal Rohingya, Bangladeshi, or Pakistani citizens to remain on the state's voter list.

In a post on 'X', he stated, 'Congress, BRS (Bharat Rashtra Samithi), and MIM (Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen) have sheltered illegal vote banks for decades. Now, they are witnessing their political ground slipping away during the SIR. This is why the Congress government is hurriedly issuing family registry certificates in an entirely illegal manner.'

He further mentioned that the BJP is prepared to fight this battle both on the streets and in the courts. The state government has issued an order to establish an electronic 'Telangana Family Registry' and has initiated the issuance of family registry certificates through the 'Me-Seva' platform.

According to the government order, the decision to implement the family registry aims to enhance the accessibility of citizen services, ensure uniformity in verifying family-related details, and create an easily available official record of families.
