During a press conference in Delhi, Bhattacharya stated that the anticipated results would reflect the sentiments of the people in West Bengal. He emphasized that Adhikari's victories would not only signify the BJP's strength but also mirror the public mood.

He further mentioned that the Election Commission of India has assured that the elections in the state will be conducted "without fear and bloodshed," with a particular focus on maintaining an accurate voter list. Bhattacharya asserted that it is their responsibility to ensure a fair election process, adding that the people of West Bengal are determined to remove the Trinamool Congress government from power.

Previously, the Election Commission announced the schedule for assembly elections in Kerala, Assam, Tamil Nadu, and West Bengal, stating that the elections will commence on April 9.

In Assam, Kerala, and Puducherry, voting will take place in a single phase on April 9, while West Bengal will have its first phase of voting on April 23 and the second phase on April 29. Tamil Nadu will also conduct its elections in a single phase on April 23. The counting of votes for all five states and union territories is scheduled for May 4.

According to the first list of 144 candidates released by the BJP for the West Bengal assembly elections, opposition leader Suvendu Adhikari will contest from Nandigram, where he defeated Mamata Banerjee in 2021, and will also run from Bhabanipur, the current constituency of the TMC chief.
