BJP's Triumph in BMC Elections

During a press conference on Friday, BJP MP Sudhanshu Trivedi praised the party's performance in the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections, noting that early trends indicate the BJP has emerged as the largest party with a lead in 98 seats. He characterized this victory as a strong response to the opposition. Trivedi expressed gratitude to the people of Maharashtra for their support of the BJP and the Shiv Sena alliance led by Eknath Shinde, calling the win historic.

Trivedi stated, 'Today, the BJP and our coalition partners have achieved a significant victory in the Maharashtra municipal elections. This reflects the ongoing support for the BJP and NDA under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi... We extend our thanks to the people of Maharashtra and all supporters for this success in the BMC, which is one of the largest municipal bodies not only in India but possibly in Asia.'

He further remarked that the younger generation has entrusted the responsibility of development to the coalition, viewing their support as a promising sign for the country's future. 'I can say that the people of Maharashtra have endorsed this new development for India... I believe Gen Z has voted in favor of a 'Developed India'... This success is undoubtedly a very positive sign for the future of the country.'

Targeting the opposition, Trivedi questioned the existence of the 'India' alliance and described the ruling party's victory as a 'stinging reply.' He dismissed the possibility of a coalition between the Trinamool Congress (TMC) and Congress in West Bengal, asserting that the people of Maharashtra have responded decisively to those engaging in negative politics. He posed the question of whether the 'India' alliance even exists, stating that there is no likelihood of TMC and Congress contesting elections together in Bengal.
