BJP Celebrates Historic Victory in West Bengal Assembly Elections

The BJP has achieved a historic victory in the West Bengal assembly elections, marking a significant milestone for the party. Leaders including Nitin Naveen and Rekha Gupta gathered at a temple in New Delhi to offer prayers and celebrate the win. Naveen expressed confidence in promoting West Bengal's culture under Prime Minister Modi's leadership. The BJP secured 207 out of 294 seats, while also achieving a third consecutive win in Assam. This victory reshapes the political landscape in the region, with implications for future governance and party dynamics.
 

BJP Leaders Offer Prayers After Election Success

Following the party's remarkable victory in the West Bengal assembly elections, BJP's national president Nitin Naveen, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, party MP Bansuri Swaraj, Delhi unit head Virender Sachdeva, and other leaders gathered at the Kali Bari temple in CR Park, New Delhi, to offer prayers. Naveen congratulated the people of West Bengal and other states that recently held elections. He emphasized that under Prime Minister Modi's leadership, the culture and heritage of West Bengal can be further promoted. He also wished for peace and prosperity across all states.


 


Speaking to reporters, Naveen expressed, 'I extend my congratulations to the people of West Bengal and all those who participated in the elections. I have come here to pray before Maa Kali for our victory in the land of Maa Kali and Maa Kamakhya.' He added, 'I am confident that under Prime Minister Modi's leadership, we can advance the culture and heritage of West Bengal... I wish for peace and prosperity in all states.'


 


In a historic achievement, the BJP formed its first government in West Bengal, securing 207 out of 294 assembly seats, while the TMC managed to win 80 seats. In Assam, the BJP achieved its third consecutive victory, winning 82 seats, surpassing the majority mark of 64 by 18 seats. Its regional allies, the Assam Gana Parishad (AGP) and Bodoland People's Front (BPF), each won 10 seats. Despite forming an alliance with five other parties, Congress could only secure 19 seats.


 


In Tamil Nadu, actor-turned-politician Vijay's party, TVK, won 108 assembly seats, displacing two major Dravidian parties from power. The Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) achieved significant victories in Kerala, while the NR Congress (ANRC)-led coalition retained its seats comfortably in Puducherry.
