BJP Candidates Tarun Chugh and Rajneesh Agarwal File Nominations for Rajya Sabha Elections in Madhya Pradesh

In a significant political move, BJP candidates Tarun Chugh and Rajneesh Agarwal have filed their nominations for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections in Madhya Pradesh. The nominations were submitted in the presence of Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and other senior party officials. With voting scheduled for June 18, the BJP is gearing up for a competitive election, having also nominated candidates from other states. Nominations Submitted for Upcoming Rajya Sabha Elections

On Saturday, Tarun Chugh and Rajneesh Agarwal, the candidates from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), officially submitted their nominations for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections in Madhya Pradesh. The submission took place in the state assembly premises, attended by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and senior party leaders.


 


The voting for the three Rajya Sabha seats in Madhya Pradesh is scheduled for June 18, with the last date for filing nominations set for June 9.


 


BJP's Candidate Selection


The BJP has nominated Chugh and Agarwal for the biennial elections, while the Congress party has put forward former MP Meenakshi Natarajan as their candidate. Chugh serves as the national general secretary of the BJP, and Agarwal is the state secretary for Madhya Pradesh.


Prior to the nomination, a meeting of BJP legislators was held at the party headquarters in Bhopal. Chief Minister Yadav, BJP state president Hemant Khandelwal, and both Rajya Sabha candidates participated in this meeting, where they discussed election preparations and organizational coordination. Following the meeting, Yadav, Khandelwal, and the candidates offered prayers at the Shiva and Hanuman temples located within the BJP office premises. They then proceeded to the assembly in a convoy of over 15 vehicles to file their nomination papers.


 


Further Candidate Announcements


The BJP has also included Tarun Chugh from Madhya Pradesh and Satish Poonia from Rajasthan in its list of candidates. According to the list released by the party, Rajubhai Shukla, Mukeshbhai Rathwa, Manasingh Parmar, and Jitendra Meghjibhai Kanjariya will contest the Rajya Sabha elections from Gujarat. Rajneesh Agarwal from Madhya Pradesh and Alka Gurjar from Rajasthan have also been nominated. Additionally, the BJP has fielded A Sharda Devi from Manipur and Tai Tagak from Arunachal Pradesh. The central election committee of the BJP has announced Debashish Samantaray as its candidate for the Rajya Sabha by-election from Odisha. Samantaray recently joined the BJP after leaving the BJD and was previously a Rajya Sabha MP before resigning from the upper house.
