BJP's Ashutosh Tiwari Submits Nomination

On Monday, Ashutosh Tiwari, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate for the Datia by-election, officially filed his nomination papers in the presence of Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, senior BJP leader Narottam Mishra, and state BJP president Hemant Khandelwal. Despite not receiving a party ticket, Mishra attended the nomination event and became emotional during Tiwari's rally. After submitting his nomination, Tiwari expressed confidence in the leadership, stating he would strive to meet their expectations. When asked about Congress state president Jitu Patwari's prediction of a significant victory for his party, Tiwari remarked that Patwari has his own claims.

He also criticized senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh, asserting that Madhya Pradesh has suffered due to Singh's influence, making any acceptance of Congress's claims questionable. Mishra, a senior leader and mentor, emphasized that they all work under Chief Minister Mohan Yadav's guidance and are prepared for the elections, asserting that there is no competition as all voters in Datia are aligned with development.

Earlier, Mishra dismissed rumors of dissatisfaction over not receiving a ticket, stating he has no complaints and will respect the party's decision. Following the announcement of Tiwari as the BJP candidate for the Datia assembly by-election, Mishra's supporters had blocked National Highway-44 on Friday evening. Tiwari has replaced Mishra, who lost this seat in the 2023 assembly elections.

Mishra, a three-time MLA from Datia, mentioned he would encourage party workers to participate in Tiwari's nomination and fulfill the responsibilities assigned by the party. Meanwhile, the Congress party has nominated Kunwar Ghanshyam Singh for this seat.
