Chief Minister's Optimism on Election Day

Guwahati, Mar 23: On the final day for nominations, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma expressed strong confidence in the BJP-led coalition's chances, predicting that the election results would be "historic" and "unmatched".

While attending the nomination submission of AGP working president Keshab Mahanta in Nagaon, Sarma chose not to specify a number for expected seats but mentioned that the results would be a surprise to all.

“We are poised to achieve record-breaking seats. I won’t disclose any figures, but the outcome will astonish everyone. Let’s wait until April 9,” the Chief Minister stated.

Sarma emphasized the solidarity within the BJP-AGP alliance, highlighting that both Mahanta and AGP president Atul Bora were filing their nominations together, and he expressed confidence in their joint success.

“I met Keshab Mahanta in Kaliabor, and it is clear that the BJP and AGP will ensure his victory,” Sarma remarked.

In Bokakhat, where he attended Bora's nomination filing, Sarma made a commitment to educational welfare.

“Parents will no longer need to worry about their children's education. We will take on all expenses from school through university,” he assured.

Bora echoed the alliance's strength, noting support from various regional partners, including Takam Mising Porin Kébang (TMPK) and Mising Mimag Kebang (MMK), for the BJP-AGP coalition.

“Under BJP's leadership, we are progressing together,” Bora stated.

BJP candidate Ranoj Pegu, who was preparing to file his nomination from Dhemaji, began his day with prayers, seeking public backing.

“Every election poses challenges, and we must secure another term. This is a significant responsibility for both the state and the nation,” Pegu remarked.

He highlighted the party's achievements, stating, “We have transformed Assam with a 45% growth rate. Various identity-based movements have been addressed, and the BJP has united all communities under a vision for a secure Assam.”

Pegu also mentioned that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Dhemaji on April 1 for a major joint event at Gogamukh, which will cover multiple constituencies including Dhemaji, Jonai, Sisiborgaon, Dhakuakhana, Lakhimpur, and Majuli.

Meanwhile, senior BJP leaders are actively campaigning across the state alongside NDA candidates. Sarma noted that Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal is present for filings in Dibrugarh and Tinsukia, while MoS Pabitra Margherita is in Naharkatia and Titabar.

With top leaders mobilizing across constituencies and alliance partners showcasing unity, the BJP-led coalition is gearing up to enhance its campaign by launching the second phase of the "Jana Aashirwad Yatra" starting Monday evening.
