Guwahati, March 27: Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal expressed strong confidence on Friday that the BJP is set to secure a third consecutive term in Assam, projecting the party will win over 100 seats in the forthcoming Assembly elections. He emphasized that the BJP has made 'historic decisions' that have positively impacted the state.

“We are assured of forming the government in Assam and are confident of surpassing the 100-seat mark. The citizens have recognized our efforts and trust our leadership,” Sonowal remarked.

He pointed out that Assam has undergone substantial changes under the BJP's administration, contrasting it with the previous governments.

“We have made historic decisions that contribute to Assam’s growth and identity. The populace desires stability and development over corruption,” the Union Minister stated.

Sonowal underscored various initiatives launched by both state and central governments, claiming these efforts have effectively reached the grassroots and enhanced the lives of the citizens.

In discussing the political landscape, he asserted that opposition parties are directionless and lack public backing, while the BJP continues to broaden its support base, particularly in regions like Barak Valley.

“The enthusiastic response from the community in areas such as Borkhola demonstrates their confidence in the BJP. We are dedicated to advancing Assam on the path of progress,” he added.

The Union Minister also called on party members to ramp up their outreach efforts as elections approach, stressing the necessity of engaging with voters at the booth level.

Senior party officials and local candidates attended the rally, which saw a large turnout of supporters.

The upcoming Assembly elections in Assam are anticipated to be a multi-faceted contest, with the BJP-led coalition aiming to maintain its power while opposition parties strive to challenge its supremacy.
