BJP Accuses Kerala UDF Government of Ignoring PSC Recruitment Irregularities

Allegations Against UDF Government

On Friday, Rajeev Chandrasekhar, the president of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Kerala, criticized the Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) government for its silence regarding alleged irregularities in the recruitment process of the Public Service Commission (PSC). He drew parallels between this situation and the methods employed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to address complaints of paper leaks at the national level.

In a post on Facebook, Chandrasekhar accused the previous Left Democratic Front (LDF) government, led by the Communist Party of India (Marxist), of denying justice to thousands of candidates who rightfully earned their positions on the merit list. He claimed that this was done through backdoor appointments, manipulation of the merit list, and protection of corrupt officials. He also pointed out that the current PSC chairman, Dr. M.R. Baiju, was appointed by the previous Pinarayi Vijayan administration.

Call for Judicial Inquiry

Chandrasekhar asserted that the current government, under Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan, has failed to take action despite the serious allegations. He emphasized that if the government were genuinely committed to ensuring justice, it should have promptly ordered a judicial inquiry. Comparing the response to complaints related to the examination process, he noted that when young people raised concerns about question paper leaks, Prime Minister Modi listened and took decisive action.

He further alleged that despite the significant 'scam' associated with the Kerala Public Service Commission, the Congress government is unwilling to address the grievances of those who made it onto the merit list. Chandrasekhar concluded by stating that the BJP will continue to stand with the youth of Kerala and will persist in its fight for merit, transparency, and justice.
