BJP Accuses Congress of Targeting Hindus for Political Gain

In a recent press conference, the BJP accused the Congress party of systematically defaming Hindus for electoral gain over the past 17 years. Spokesperson Sambit Patra highlighted the party's claims of a deliberate strategy aimed at undermining Hindu beliefs and the Constitution. He pointed to new revelations from an ATS officer regarding the Malegaon blasts investigation, suggesting undue pressure to promote a narrative of 'Hindu terrorism.' The BJP's allegations extend to the Congress's historical treatment of Hindus, framing it as a politically motivated attack. This article delves into the details of these claims and the implications for Indian politics.

BJP's Allegations Against Congress

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) asserted on Friday that the Congress party has been systematically maligning Hindus for the past 17 years as part of a calculated strategy aimed at vote bank politics. During a press conference at the party headquarters, spokesperson Sambit Patra stated that Congress has consistently attacked saints, soldiers, Sanatan Dharma, and the Constitution over this period. He emphasized that this was a deliberate tactic to defame Hindus for electoral advantage. Ultimately, he claimed, the truth has prevailed.

Patra further elaborated that the Congress government had attempted to propagate the narrative of 'Hindu terrorism' and that the Gandhi family's agenda seemed focused on humiliating Hindus. He suggested that this was a result of appeasement politics and a desire to undermine Sanatan Dharma. The recent court ruling regarding the Malegaon case, he argued, has dismantled this narrative.

He mentioned that two new revelations have emerged today. One involves a disclosure from Mahboob Mujawar, an officer from the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) who conducted the investigation during the Malegaon blasts. Patra indicated that this revelation is quite shocking and will be discussed in detail during the press conference. Additionally, he noted that former Chief Minister and prominent Congress leader Prithviraj Chavan made a statement at Rahul Gandhi's behest, which will also be addressed.

According to Patra, Mujawar revealed that he faced immense pressure from senior officials and influential figures in the government to advance the narrative of Hindu terrorism, specifically to arrest RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat. Despite the absence of any names in the charge sheet or during the investigation, Mujawar cited constitutional grounds to refuse the order, stating it was not in accordance with the law. As a result, he faced allegations from higher-ups that stalled his promotion. Eventually, Mujawar approached the court, which exonerated him, declaring the accusations against him to be baseless.

Patra criticized the retaliatory approach of the Congress government at the time, highlighting how they sought to humiliate and arrest BJP members and those who adhere to Hindu beliefs. He claimed that this vindictive behavior was orchestrated under the directives of the Gandhi family. Chavan reiterated his stance today, stating that terrorism does not have a religion, which he described as a phrase used for appeasement. He pointed out that Congress leaders often make such statements following terrorist attacks to cater to their vote bank and further their appeasement agenda. He challenged them to label terrorists as Hindu or Sanatan terrorists if they truly believe in their statements.
