BJP's Allegations Against Congress and Allies

New Delhi, August 4 - The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has accused the Congress party and its allies in the 'India' coalition of intentionally obstructing the Monsoon session of Parliament. The party claims that the opposition's behavior has hindered discussions on crucial bills, revealing a 'double standard' regarding issues like question paper leaks and student protests.

During a press conference at the party headquarters, BJP national spokesperson and Lok Sabha member Sambit Patra stated that despite the significant expenditure on each parliamentary session, disruptions during question hour and zero hour have prevented MPs from raising issues pertinent to their constituencies.

Patra expressed concern over the manner in which the Monsoon session is being conducted, particularly highlighting the Congress party's collaboration with certain coalition partners to create disruptions. He noted, 'Millions are spent on each session of Parliament.'

He pointed out that since the session commenced, there has been no question hour, and disturbances have continued during zero hour. 'Hardly any bills are being discussed,' he remarked.

Patra criticized the Congress party and its allies for their behavior, expressing astonishment at their double standards. He suggested that the opposition might again prevent parliamentary proceedings on Tuesday.

Accusing Congress of adopting a dual approach regarding question paper leak incidents, Patra claimed that the party remains silent in states where it is in power while politicizing similar issues elsewhere. Referring to comments made by Karnataka's Home Minister Priyank Kharge regarding alleged irregularities in police constable recruitment exams, he stated, 'Kharge suggested that students should first go on a hunger strike for 25 days, after which they would face police action before he would consider resigning.'

Patra also noted Rahul Gandhi's silence on this matter. He further alleged that Congress has ignored students protesting against the alleged paper leak in the 14th JPSC exam in Jharkhand. 'No Congress MP was seen holding placards regarding the JPSC exam issue at the gates of Parliament. This selective outrage is politically motivated,' he asserted.

Additionally, Patra condemned the recent opposition protests inside the Parliament complex regarding the alleged theft of donations at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, claiming it disrespected Hindu saints and hurt religious sentiments.

He criticized the act of labeling a person dressed as a sadhu as a thief and dragging him during the protests, stating that it sends a negative message about the Hindu community. He was referring to the recent demonstration by independent member Rajesh Ranjan, also known as Pappu Yadav, who wore saffron robes during the protest.
