Political Shock in Bihar

The decision by Bihar's Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to file his nomination for the Rajya Sabha elections has opened the door for a new chief minister, leaving supporters of the Janata Dal (United) in disbelief. Outside the CM's residence in Patna, JDU workers protested, struggling to accept that Kumar has chosen to step down from his position.

One JDU member speculated that Kumar's account might have been hacked, while another declared that if the chief minister does not reconsider his decision, they would take to the streets in protest.

Supporters Express Their Discontent

A JDU supporter expressed sadness over the situation, emphasizing that Kumar has dedicated his life to serving the people of Bihar since his student activism days. They believe that no one else can take on the role of chief minister and wish for Kumar to continue in his position. JDU leader Rajiv Ranjan Patel lamented, stating that they have fought hard to support Kumar and that they plan to campaign for him in the upcoming elections in 2025. He questioned where the people of Bihar would turn if Kumar were no longer in charge.

Patel further challenged anyone wishing to replace Kumar to prove their leadership through elections, asserting that they would not allow Kumar to withdraw his nomination. Another supporter echoed this sentiment, claiming that Kumar cannot disrespect the public mandate and is under significant pressure from a larger conspiracy.

Calls for Kumar to Remain

Another supporter, visibly upset by Kumar's decision, urged him to remain as chief minister, calling the situation heartbreaking. They reiterated that Kumar has been a pillar of support for the people of Bihar, who view him as family, insisting that no one else could fulfill the role of chief minister.
