Patna, May 7: In a significant political development, the cabinet led by Samrat Chaudhary was expanded on Thursday at Gandhi Maidan, where 32 members from the ruling NDA alliance took their oaths as ministers.

The swearing-in ceremony saw the presence of prominent figures including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, alongside numerous senior leaders from the NDA.

Thousands of supporters gathered, transforming the event into a powerful display of political strength.

A key highlight of this cabinet expansion was the introduction of several new faces.

The JD(U) welcomed three new members: Nishant Kumar, Bulo Mandal, and Shweta Gupta, with Gupta's induction particularly aimed at enhancing women's representation in the government.

Additionally, the BJP appointed four first-time ministers: Mithilesh Tiwari, Ramchandra Paswan, Nand Kishore Ram, and Engineer Shailendra, aiming to broaden their appeal across various social demographics.

The cabinet composition reflects a strategic balance among NDA allies, comprising 15 ministers from the BJP, 13 from JD(U), two from the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), one from Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular), and one from Rashtriya Lok Morcha led by Upendra Kushwaha.

This allocation highlights the NDA's commitment to maintaining unity within the alliance while gearing up for upcoming electoral challenges.

The cabinet's structure showcases a deliberate effort to balance caste and social representation, featuring 10 ministers from Extremely Backward Classes (EBC), six from Other Backward Classes (OBC), seven from Dalit communities, nine from upper caste groups, and one Muslim minister.

The oath of office was first administered by Governor Syed Ata Hasnain to Shravan Kumar, Vijay Kumar Sinha, Dilip Jaiswal, Nishant Kumar, and Leshi Singh.

Following them, ministers from both the BJP and JD(U) took their oaths, including Ram Kripal Yadav, Nitish Mishra, Damodar Rawat, and others.

In total, the cabinet now includes leaders from nearly every significant social group, reflecting the NDA's comprehensive electoral strategy in Bihar, where caste dynamics are pivotal.

The new cabinet comprises five women ministers, with JD(U) contributing the majority at three.

Political analysts view this as a move to promote greater female involvement in governance and politics.

While the cabinet expansion is seen as a politically strategic maneuver ahead of elections, the newly formed government now faces the task of converting political promises into effective governance.

The NDA leadership aims to balance alliance management, caste representation, and electoral strategy effectively.

With the cabinet established, focus will now shift to the execution of development initiatives and sustaining political unity within Bihar's intricate social framework.
