Bihar's Building Construction Department Unveils 2026 Diary and Calendar
On New Year's Day, Bihar's Building Construction Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary launched the 2026 diary and calendar, showcasing the state's construction achievements. The event highlighted the progress of over 2,700 projects, with a focus on quality and timely completion. Launch of Diary and Calendar by Bihar's Building Construction Minister
Patna. On the occasion of the New Year, the Honorable Minister of the Building Construction Department, Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, along with Secretary Kumar Ravi, launched the diary and calendar for 2026 published by the Bihar State Building Construction Corporation Limited. During the event, Secretary Kumar Ravi welcomed the minister with a green plant. The diary and calendar feature images and information about various buildings constructed by the corporation in the state.
During the presentation, the minister was informed about the projects being implemented by the corporation. The Bihar State Building Construction Corporation Limited is currently working on 2,708 projects, out of which 2,389 have been completed. Work is progressing rapidly on 199 projects. The corporation also provided information regarding the establishment of a quality testing laboratory to ensure smooth monitoring of projects and quality construction, along with regular inspections of work sites.
Additionally, efforts are underway to develop sports infrastructure at 14 locations announced during the progress journey. The work to develop 89 industrial training institutes as Centers of Excellence is also in progress, with 84 institutes already completed. The remaining five institutes are expected to be developed by January 2026. Updates were also shared regarding the construction and development of tourist facilities at the Lal Pahadi archaeological site in Lakhisarai.
The Honorable Minister emphasized the importance of timely and quality construction for all projects. He stressed the need for establishing maintenance standards for buildings to ensure proper upkeep. He also directed that maintenance provisions be included in new projects to facilitate effective execution. Meanwhile, the Secretary instructed that the announced plans during the progress journey be prioritized for completion. He also discussed the installation of solar panels on building rooftops and addressed the appointment of engineers by the corporation to alleviate workforce shortages in project execution. Senior officials, including Kumar Anurag, Managing Director of the Bihar State Building Construction Corporation Limited, were present at the event.
