Unexpected Turn at a Wedding Ceremony

In a surprising incident in Bhojpur district, Bihar, a wedding ceremony took a dramatic turn when the bride refused to marry the groom, referring to him as 'uncle'. The bride's firm stance and threats to harm herself left her family powerless, resulting in the groom's party returning without the bride. As of the latest updates, the police have not been involved in this matter.

This incident occurred in the village of Dalelganj, located in the Sandesh police station area of Bhojpur. The groom, Sudhir Kumar, arrived with great fanfare for the wedding. The 22-year-old bride, Shobha Kumari, was about to participate in the garland exchange ceremony when she suddenly became upset upon seeing the groom. She firmly told her father, 'Dad, I will not marry this guy. He looks like an uncle; what will I tell my friends and society? If forced, I will end my life.' Her warning caused chaos at the wedding venue.

Despite attempts by her parents and relatives to convince her, the bride remained resolute. The situation escalated to the point where she quietly left the venue with some family members.

Meanwhile, the groom, Sudhir Kumar, waited on stage with the garland, expecting his bride to join him, but she never appeared. The wedding venue fell silent, food stalls were deserted, and chairs remained unoccupied. After midnight, the groom had to leave the venue without his bride.

Sudhir Kumar expressed his disappointment over the entire situation. He stated that the marriage was arranged with mutual consent, explaining, 'Our wedding was scheduled for February 15, 2026. The bride had seen me twice and liked me. We had been in constant communication over the phone. I don't understand what happened suddenly during the garland exchange.'
