Monthly Grievance Camps Launched in Bihar
During a press conference held at the Information and Public Relations Department, Secretary of the General Administration Department, Mohd. Sohail, announced that in line with Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary's visionary approach, monthly grievance camps will be organized on the first and third Tuesdays of each month across all panchayats, blocks, and urban bodies. Starting from May 19, 2026, these camps have received a total of 583,866 applications related to public issues, with 533,904 cases resolved within the stipulated time. Efforts are underway to expedite the resolution of the remaining pending cases. Notably, the highest number of grievances were reported from Bhojpur, West Champaran, Patna, Begusarai, and Muzaffarpur.
Sohail further stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, continuous efforts are being made for the comprehensive development of the state and to establish a better administrative system. The organization of these grievance camps is a significant step in this direction. To facilitate quick resolutions, a grievance portal has been created, allowing citizens to file complaints online at any time. Additionally, information regarding the grievance camps can be obtained by dialing the toll-free helpline number 1100.
Highlighting the achievements of the General Administration Department, Sohail mentioned that both BIPARD, Gaya, and BIPARD, Patna have received ISO 9001:2015 international quality certification this year. Under the Right to Public Services Act, 2011, approximately 538 million applications have been successfully processed to date. Over 64 services are now available through public service centers established in Panchayat government buildings, eliminating the need for citizens to travel to block, sub-divisional, or district headquarters. So far, a total of 3,377,620 applications have been received at the Panchayat level, with 3,348,776 applications successfully processed. To enhance this system's efficiency, an automatic appeal process for received applications will commence on June 23, 2026, with 6,934 appeal cases processed, of which 5,503 have been resolved successfully.
To effectively implement the Bihar Public Grievance Redressal Act, 2015, a Public Grievance Redressal Officer has been appointed in each division and district. More than 1.938 million complaints have been resolved under this framework. During the press conference, Sohail also informed about various initiatives including the Government Servant Grievance Redressal System, capacity building for government officials and employees, the Chief Minister Fellowship Scheme, employment opportunities for youth, human resource management systems, asset declarations, helplines, and call center initiatives, along with significant administrative decisions.
