Bihar Assembly Election Results Prompt Government Formation

Following the Bihar Assembly elections, the process of forming a new government has gained momentum. The victorious NDA coalition has decided to finalize the distribution of ministerial portfolios based on the number of seats each alliance partner holds. On November 20, Bihar's caretaker Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, along with other NDA leaders, visited Gandhi Maidan to review preparations for the upcoming swearing-in ceremony of the new government. BJP leader Nitin Nabin stated that all arrangements for the ceremony are complete, emphasizing that it marks a new chapter of development for Bihar, and efforts are underway to create a festive atmosphere for the event.

High-Profile Attendance Expected at the Ceremony

Nitin Nabin mentioned that chief ministers from various states, along with the Prime Minister, the Home Minister, and several other central ministers, are expected to attend. The entire NDA family, along with chief ministers from different states, will celebrate this occasion. The Chief Minister is personally overseeing all preparations. According to top NDA sources, the allocation of ministerial departments will be strictly based on party representation.

BJP Meeting to Finalize Ministerial Distribution

Sources revealed that the BJP will hold a meeting of its legislative party on Wednesday, November 19, at 10 AM. The final distribution of the council of ministers will follow high-level discussions held in Delhi. After these meetings, a preliminary list will be prepared, which will involve detailed discussions with Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP National President JP Nadda. Leaders from Delhi have already departed for Patna, indicating that the final list will be released shortly after the BJP meeting.

Observers Sent to Monitor Legislative Party Leader Election

To oversee the election of the legislative party leader, the BJP has dispatched a delegation of observers from Delhi to Patna. Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya has been appointed as the central observer, with Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal and former Union Minister Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti serving as co-observers. The distribution of the council of ministers is being conducted according to a clear formula related to seat allocation prior to the elections, which is determined based on the election results.

Speculations on Next Chief Minister Dismissed

Union Minister and Begusarai MP Giriraj Singh dismissed speculations regarding the next Chief Minister of Bihar, expressing confidence that Nitish Kumar will remain in office following the NDA's victory in the assembly elections. Singh questioned why there was any 'confusion' regarding the Chief Minister's name. However, he acknowledged that each party has its own processes, and the NDA will also hold meetings to select Bihar's Chief Minister.

Ongoing Negotiations for Assembly Speaker Position

According to sources, discussions between the Janata Dal United (JD(U)) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) regarding the Assembly Speaker position are ongoing, with both parties asserting their claims. In the previous assembly, BJP's Nand Kishor Yadav served as the Speaker, while JD(U)'s Narendra Narayan Yadav was the Deputy Speaker. Senior leaders from JD(U) and top BJP officials are reportedly holding continuous meetings in New Delhi, where discussions are also taking place regarding the allocation of significant departments.
