Bihar Elections Heat Up: Tejashwi Yadav's Stance on Chief Ministerial Candidate
Political Turmoil in Bihar Ahead of Elections
With the Bihar elections approaching, political tensions are escalating in the state. Both ruling and opposition parties are actively targeting each other, and internal conflicts are also surfacing within parties.
In the latest developments, discussions regarding the chief ministerial candidate have intensified. Tejashwi Yadav, a leader from the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), has made it clear that the Grand Alliance will not contest the elections without a designated candidate for the chief minister position. He provocatively questioned whether they are supporters of the BJP to fight elections without a face.
This statement from Tejashwi came during his 'Supply Rights Yatra,' which was conducted in areas previously untouched by opposition rallies.
Who Will Be the Face for Chief Minister?
Tejashwi Yadav has previously indicated that he views Congress leader Rahul Gandhi as the prime ministerial face for the opposition alliance. However, Rahul Gandhi has yet to officially declare Tejashwi as the chief ministerial candidate for the Grand Alliance in Bihar. This uncertainty continues to raise questions among the public regarding who will represent Bihar as chief minister.
Tejashwi responded to these queries by stating, 'Please wait a little; the public will decide. Being just a chief minister or government is not everything; we need to build Bihar.' He further mentioned that the chief ministerial face will be determined after the allocation of seats.
Tejashwi Positions Himself as the Real Chief Minister
During a rally in Ara on August 31, Tejashwi Yadav took a strong jab at Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, labeling the current government as a 'copycat' administration. He emphasized the need for a genuine chief minister, asking the gathered crowd whether they wanted a fake or a real leader. This statement clearly indicates that Tejashwi considers himself a potential face for the alliance.
As for the Congress party, they have not yet taken a definitive stance regarding the chief ministerial position. Rahul Gandhi mentioned to reporters that all partners in the All India Alliance will work together with mutual respect and cooperation to achieve favorable results. This suggests that Congress is adopting a balanced approach, with a final decision likely to be made later.
