No Claims Filed by Political Parties in Bihar
The Election Commission of India has announced that no political parties have raised objections or claims regarding the revised draft voter list in Bihar as of 11 AM on Monday. In its daily bulletin, the commission stated that from August 1 to August 11, over 160,813 booth-level agents from national and state parties did not submit any objections or claims concerning the draft roll prepared after collecting enumeration forms under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise.

During the same period, however, more than 10,570 voters submitted their claims and objections, with over 127 objections resolved within a week. The commission also received 54,432 Form 6 applications related to the registration of new voters aged 18 and above. The Election Commission reiterated in its bulletin that, according to SIR orders, no names can be removed from the draft list published on August 1, 2025, without a clear directive after verification by the ERO/AERO and providing a fair opportunity.

The SIR in Bihar has faced repeated criticism from opposition parties, who have labeled the amendment unconstitutional and accused the authorities of potentially manipulating the voter list to benefit a specific political party. The opposition is protesting against the SIR both inside and outside Parliament, and plans to march from Parliament to the Election Commission office on Ashok Road on Monday. Senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh alleged that all booth-level officers (BLOs) are filling out fake forms in a single room.
