Bihar CM Celebrates T10 League Final and Announces Pension Transfers

Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary attended the Bihar T10 League final, where he celebrated the victory of the Bhagalpur Titans. He also announced that social security pensions will now be directly transferred to beneficiaries' bank accounts on the 10th of each month. This initiative aims to ensure timely support for over 105 lakh individuals, with new beneficiaries being added to the scheme. Additionally, he laid the foundation for a highway expansion project, furthering infrastructure development in the state.
 

Bihar T10 League Final Highlights

On Thursday, Bihar's Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary was the chief guest at the Bihar T10 League 2026 final held at Urja Stadium in Patna. He actively supported the players during the match, which featured a showdown between the Bhagalpur Titans and the Champaran Champions. The Bhagalpur Titans claimed victory in this exciting final. CM Choudhary awarded the trophy to the winning team and recognized both the champions and runners-up with medals and accolades.


Direct Benefit Transfer for Social Security Pension

Earlier that day, CM Choudhary announced a significant update regarding social security pensions. Starting from now, pension payments will be directly deposited into the bank accounts of beneficiaries on the 10th of each month via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). During an event at Gangta Mor in Munger's Haveli Kharagpur, he transferred a total of Rs 1,233.87 crore for August 2026, benefiting 105.68 lakh individuals at a rate of Rs 1,100 each.


This month, 98,896 new beneficiaries were added to the social security pension scheme. Choudhary emphasized the government's dedication to ensuring that all eligible individuals receive social security without any form of discrimination.


"Ensuring timely pension transfers is a priority for our government, which is why we have designated the 10th of every month for these payments," he stated.


He also assured that no eligible person would be discriminated against based on caste, religion, or any other criteria, aiming to guarantee that benefits reach the intended recipients directly.


Foundation Stone for Highway Expansion

During the same event, CM Choudhary laid the foundation stone for the widening and strengthening of National Highway-333, covering the stretch from kilometre 28.340 (Gangta) to kilometre 38.340 (Kohbarwa Mor) through remote means.
