Chief Minister's Visit to Vishnupad Temple

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar visited the Vishnupad Temple in Gaya, where he offered prayers for the state's prosperity, peace, and happiness. Following this, he inspected the banks of the Falgu River to review the preparations for the Pitripaksha Mela Mahasangam-2025, providing necessary directives to officials.

Review Meeting on Mela Preparations

At the Gaya District Collectorate, the Chief Minister held a review meeting regarding the upcoming Pitripaksha Mela Mahasangam-2025. District Magistrate Shashank Shubhankar presented detailed information about the preparations through a presentation, which included a short film focused on the mela. The event is scheduled to take place from September 6 to September 21, 2025, with arrangements made for devotees at all significant altars and ghats.

Ensuring Facilities for Pilgrims

During the meeting, the Chief Minister emphasized the importance of providing comprehensive facilities for the large number of pilgrims who visit Gaya from across the country and abroad to perform rituals for their ancestors. He instructed officials to ensure that all necessary arrangements are in place for the comfort of the devotees.

Focus on Cleanliness and Safety

The Chief Minister highlighted the need for cleanliness and sanitation during the mela, stressing that regular cleaning of ghats, ponds, and pathways is essential. He pointed out that many pilgrims bathe in the ponds, making water cleanliness and drainage crucial. The construction of the Gaya Dam is aimed at maintaining the water level in the Falgu River to facilitate the rituals without inconvenience.

Acknowledgment from the Panda Community

Representatives from the panda community expressed their gratitude to the Chief Minister for his efforts in developing Gaya, particularly for bringing Ganga water to the area. The meeting was attended by various officials, including ministers and senior bureaucrats, who discussed the preparations in detail.

Inauguration of Development Projects

During a separate event at Chakand High School, the Chief Minister inaugurated ten projects worth ₹899.46 crores, which include the renovation of the Bara Dam and the construction of a flyover in the municipal area. These projects aim to enhance infrastructure and connectivity in the region.
