Patna, August 3 - In the early counting of votes for the Bankipur assembly by-election in Bihar, Prashant Kishor, the candidate from the Jan Suraj Party, is currently in the lead against his closest rival. According to information from the Election Commission, Kishor has secured 2,225 votes so far, putting him ahead of Neeraj Kumar, the candidate from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), by a margin of 862 votes.

Neeraj Kumar has received 1,363 votes. Meanwhile, Rekha Kumari, representing the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), is in third place with 505 votes. Other candidates include Tanveer Alam from the Rashtriya Lok Janshakti Party with 203 votes, Manohar Kumar Srivastava from the Progressive Janata Party with 42 votes, Pradeep Kumar from the Indian Aam Awam Party with 32 votes, Jitendra Dubey from the Akhil Bharatiya Jan Sangh with 13 votes, independent candidate Abhay Chaudhary with 12 votes, and Ram Babu Prasad from the National Poor Party with 11 votes.
