Bihar Bride's Shocking Escape in Jodhpur: A Tale of Deception
The Incident Unfolds
In Jodhpur, Rajasthan, a bride from Bihar orchestrated a shocking incident. After marrying a young man for money, she revealed her true intentions just two days into their marriage. When the groom discovered her secret, the bride locked him in a room and attempted to flee. She fashioned a rope from her saree to escape from the balcony, but her plan went awry, resulting in both of her legs breaking upon landing. This cunning bride was subsequently apprehended by the police, where she disclosed details about her entire gang that was involved in defrauding unsuspecting individuals under the guise of marriage.
The Groom's Complaint
The incident took place in the Banad police station area, where a young man named Bharat filed a complaint regarding the fraudulent marriage. He accused 23-year-old bride Suman and five others of serious offenses.
Bharat recounted that he had been struggling to find a bride when a family acquaintance, Nandkishore Soni, assured him over the phone on June 27 that he could help him marry a good girl. This led to an arrangement with a 23-year-old girl from Bihar. Nandkishore's associates, Sandeep Sharma and Ravi, brought two girls, one named Suman and the other Ruby Pandey. Bharat expressed a preference for Suman, but was informed that he needed to pay three lakh rupees for the wedding expenses.
The Cost of the Marriage
Marriage Deal for 300,000 Rupees
Bharat explained that they paid 170,000 rupees in cash and transferred another 130,000 rupees online. The marriage was conducted at an Arya Samaj temple, but just two days later, Bharat learned that Suman was a con artist. A dispute arose between them, during which Suman locked him in a room. She then attempted to escape using a saree rope, but broke her legs upon jumping. Sandeep and Ravi were waiting outside to assist her, but when Bharat raised an alarm, his family members woke up, leading to Suman's capture.
The Bride's Deception Continues
Continued Deception in Hospital
Suman was admitted to the hospital in serious condition, but her deceit did not cease. While hospitalized, she repeatedly changed her father's name. Investigations revealed that she was already married prior to this incident. The documents she presented during the marriage, claiming to be unmarried, were found to be fraudulent. This revelation led to the exposure of the entire gang. Suman Pandey is reported to be from Aurangabad, Bihar, while Sandeep Sharma hails from Kaushambi, Uttar Pradesh. Ravi and Ruby Devi are from Dalmia Nagar, Rohtas, Bihar, and Nandkishore Soni and Jitendra Soni are residents of Jodhpur. Authorities are currently searching for the remaining suspects.
