Tragic Incident in Samastipur

In a shocking incident in Samastipur district, Bihar, a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was reportedly shot dead. Authorities confirmed the news on Thursday.

The victim has been identified as Roopak Sahani. According to police reports, he was at his shop in Shadipur, located in the Khanpur police station area, when armed assailants arrived in an SUV and opened fire indiscriminately, resulting in his immediate death.

Law enforcement officials stated that the motive behind this attack is believed to be an old rivalry. Following the incident, Ranjit Kumar Chaudhary, the Khanpur police station chief, has been suspended for negligence in duty.

Arvind Pratap Singh, the Superintendent of Police in Samastipur, revealed that two individuals have already been apprehended in connection with the murder case. He added, 'We are actively pursuing other suspects and will apprehend them soon.'

Family members of the deceased have alleged that Roopak Sahani had been receiving death threats and had filed complaints with the police, but no action was taken.
